Circle
Almost always “forever” means a long time
“long time” in terms of our fleeting lives
Almost always beauty involves fragility
and love the promise of future pain
Almost always the fear is much bigger
than the reality at last delivered
Almost always we seek to become
but becoming is the state we live in
Almost always “the ending” is just the start
and sometimes you start right at the end
Almost always things will transform
so it is never too late to change
This is why clocks are round
they mirror the ever-shifting, ever-circling time
and if after death there’s nothing more
then all we have is this small circle.
